This is just another photo from a lovely hike along the Oregon coastline. The trees are always amusingly wind-battered here; they remind me terribly of my grandmother on a bad-hair day. I was disappointed washed-out the sand is, but I don't really know how to compensate for intense sunlight with my little digital. It seems as though my gallery is dominated by pastelish photos, so I thought I'd submit this just to add some color.

Add some color, yeah, I do like the colours here. Of course, that's almost the most uninformative common comment. The green contrasts very well with the red-orange exposed sandstone (i think that's what it is). And there's something satisfying about that olive green down at the bottom of the frame after the white sand and grey rocks. Plus, the trees' bark is the same colour as the sand/pebbles. I really wish this photo were taken with a longer lens though, to make the moon more noticable.

 Thank you for noticing my least-noticed shot. I really hope someday to go back to that site and try again (this time with a real camera :giggle:) Thank you for sharing your photographical expertise.

Well, someday I'll have a fancy camera (and know how to use it properly) and be able to prevent this sort of loss in color and texture.

lol.... try to control the exposure, and the spotmeter, if you have one... there is also the way to take the picture... you should prone to take it... this would reduce the light of the sand :p
